Description

A polypectomy snare is a medical device used during colonoscopies and other endoscopic procedures to remove polyps from the gastrointestinal tract. It is a wire loop that grasps and removes polyps, either by cutting them at their base (sessile polyps) or their stalk (pedunculated polyps). The snare can be used with or without electrosurgery (hot snare or cold snare, respectively).
